Tuva: the republican museum is open
By the beginning of the new year according to the lunar calendar, the grand opening of the republican museum in the capital of the Republic of Tuva - Kyzyl was timed, the museum employee Olga Mongush said.
This is a magnificent building built in the form of a Tuva yurt. It is located in one of the central areas of the city. The project of the building was developed by Moscow architect Mikhail Bubnov. Construction of the building began in the late 90s, but because of problems with financing it was often interrupted.
Now the museum holds over 100 thousand exhibits, and the exhibition area of the new building is about 2.5 thousand square meters. The museum has eight halls, seven of which have already opened exhibits telling about the history of the republic, which is located in the geographical center of the mainland.
“In this building we will be able to adequately show the world and the history of our ancient ancestors, and the modernity of our republic,” said the head of the republican government Sholban Kara-ool.
