The construction of the academic center of Columbia University on the project of Renzo Piano
The process of building a new academic conference center at Columbia University has begun, the project of which was developed by the studios Renzo Piano Building Workshop and Dattner Architects. The building has an area of 5.200 square meters. m, being built in a new university campus in the Manhattanville area at the intersection of 125th Street and Broadway, will serve as a venue for scientific conferences and a place where representatives of various branches of science can gather to discuss ideas.
According to Harlem + Bespoke, the height of the above-ground part of the steel frame of the building has already reached two floors. In the future, there will open an information center, offices, meeting rooms, two assembly halls and cafes. The constructed building is intended to become the anchor object of the campus in Manhattanville.The first phase of the project has already been completed and was marked by the commissioning of two buildings, also designed by the Renzo Piano architectural bureau.
