Solar panels are now required for new San Francisco buildings
Despite the fact that San Francisco is regularly shrouded in fogs, solar panels are now required for new buildings.
Thanks to the new rule, officials are hoping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
This law was passed unanimously by the San Francisco District Council.
At the moment, most new California buildings should have at least 15% of roof space for solar panels, but this rule does not require their installation.
In the small cities of California, for example, in Lancaster and Sevastopol, solar panels on the roofs have become mandatory, but San Francisco will be the first large city to do this.
