How to make a flavoringDecember 6, 2012
It is so pleasant when pleasant aromas soar in the air, Vedas, we are strongly associated with certain moments. The New Year smells like Christmas tree and tangerines, and the birthday has the smell of cakes in the oven. Maintain a pleasant aromatic atmosphere in the house with the help of simple devices called flavors. Now there are many similar products in household chemicals stores, but in our age of problem ecology, I would like to meet less with aerosols and chemicals.
There are many options for natural flavors - sticks, aroma candles, aroma lamps, etc. All of them have their advantages and disadvantages, but in this article we will talk about the production of another type of flavors.
Fragrance from a jar
In order to fill the house with pleasant smells, you can make flavors from various jars that can be found in any home. You will also need regular baking soda, a lid for a jar (or foil, or food film) and a suitable essential oil (1).
The essence of this flavoring is that soda retains odors for a long time, and if you soak it with essential oil, it will give this fragrance for a long time.
So, for any variant of the jar, the principle is the same: at the bottom they pour baking soda with a layer about the finger's thickness or slightly less (2). 8-10 drops of an essential oil or a composition from oils drip there. Then shake the jar and the flavoring is ready. But the jar needs to be closed tightly, and there are several ways to do it.
If there is a suitable lid for a jar, then it is necessary to take a small carnation and a hammer, screw the lid on and punch a few holes in it (3,4) - they can be pierced more.
It also happens that there is a suitable jar, and the lid is rubbed to it. In this case, use food foil. With a piece of foil tighten the neck of the jar, and then gently pierce it with a sharp bamboo stick or gypsy needle (5).
If there was no foil at home, you can use a plastic film as a cover. It is also pulled on the neck and pierced in several places with a sharp object (6).
The following essential oils can be used for flavoring rooms:
- Lemon or orange
- rose flower
- Ylang ylang
Such a homemade flavor will smell at least a week, and if it smells tired, you can put the jar in the cupboard (by the way, the flavor with lavender oil will help in scaring the moth), and make another flavor for the room.
If the filler in the jar finally ceases to smell, you still should not throw it out. This soda can, for example, clean the silver.
You can make all-natural orange flavoring. This option is perfect for the winter period, because in addition to the air aromatization function, the orange aroma also has an anti-inflammatory effect. For the manufacture of such flavoring will need a large ripe orange, cinnamon (or ground coffee) and a sharp knife.
Make a flavor like this: carefully cut the top of the orange and carefully remove the pulp with a spoon. You can arrange the peel in the form of flower petals, and you can leave it whole.
In the center of the orange pour a tablespoon of cinnamon or ground coffee and put the finished flavoring in the right place. It will emit a delicious and pleasant smell of orange with cinnamon or coffee.Over time, when the orange flavor becomes weaker, it will be possible to drop a couple of drops of orange essential oil in the middle of the flavor.
