The Governor hopes for fruitful and long-term cooperation with the China Railway Company. According to the plans of the government, the first light rail line will be built in St. Petersburg.It will pass from the metro station "Kupchino" to the airport "Pulkovo". The need for construction is the ever-growing passenger traffic to the metro station. According to the project of the future light rail tram line, the facility will be built within three years.
The length of the line will be about 11 kilometers. At this distance there are seven stops. The tram will consist of two cars, the speed of which does not exceed 50 kilometers per hour. The entire route transport will take place in 20 minutes. According to preliminary estimates, the construction of the light rail train line will cost 15.3 billion rubles.
